Real Madrid vs Barcelona LIVE: Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona LIVE: La Liga LIVE: Thibaut Courtois has been ruled out of the El Clasico as per Spanish daily MARCA. The goalkeeper is in massive doubt in the encounter against arch-rivals Barcelona. The clash is set to take place on 16 October at Bernabeu. The victors from the clash will achieve a 3-point lead in the top of the table. The Belgian won’t participate since he hasn’t fully healed from his back issue. Since the 2-1 La Liga victory against Atletico Madrid on September 18, Courtois has not played for Los Blancos.  He missed the league matches against Osasuna and Getafe. Meanwhile, Andriy Lunin had an unexpected run in the team during his absence for the two Champions League games against Shakhtar Donetsk. Since returning from the international break, he has missed a total of five games for Los Blancos .El Clasico will be his sixth. There is no timetable for his return yet. Courtois, though, has improved in his workouts.

Due to a hamstring issue, Dani Ceballos will undoubtedly be absent from Real Madrid. Antonio Rudiger is, however, eligible for selection, which is good news for head coach Carlo Ancelotti. On October 11, the German center defender suffered a head injury after tying the score at 1-1  against Shakhtar in stoppage time. He has since started working out with his teammates and may play in the Clasico.

Barcelona also has some injury issues because Hector Bellerin, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, and Memphis Depay are all sidelined.
