The oneLove armband consists of a rainbow heart which is directly related to the LGBTQIA community. Homosexual activities are strictly prohibited in Qatar and the government has made it clear that they will not make an exception for World Cup. Naturally, FIFA is still to green-light the OneLove armband. However, English Football Association has decided to go through with the armband even if FIFA opposes it. They will bear any fine they may face.

Other countries like Belgium, France, Germany, and Wales have also supported the decision of the FA. They may also follow their footprints in terms of wearing the armband. This means we may also see the likes of Eden Hazard, Manuel Nuer, and Gareth Bale donning the OneLove armband in the face of the Qatari government’s opposition.
Harry Kane, who wore the band for the first time last month in a Nations League match, has said, “I am honoured to join my fellow national team captains in supporting the important OneLove campaign.”
