Nunez was replaced by Salah after 68 minutes. He quickly scored a hat trick, with only six minutes and twelve seconds between his first and third goals. In the 87th minute, Harvey Elliott scored Liverpool’s seventh goal. A much-changed Liverpool team failed to get going early on in Glasgow. They found themselves down when Arfield scored from the edge of the box in minute 17 to raise the roof off Ibrox.

Firmino equalized the score from a corner with a near-post header to maintain his impressive recent goal-scoring streak. After the break, Liverpool outplayed the opposition. They took the lead again thanks to Firmino’s conversion of Joe Gomez’s exact low cross.

Nunez’s magnificent finish placed the game beyond the reach of the hosts with Rangers in pursuit until Salah, who came off the bench to start the game, supplied an exquisite stabbing finish from a tight angle. After 80 minutes, he scored again with an improvised finish past a misplaced McGregor.
