IND vs WA XI LIVE – T20 World Cup warm-up LIVE – Team India will kick off their preparations for the T20 World Cup on Monday with a practice game against the Western Australia XI. The Men in Blue will play two such games in Perth before warm-up games against Australia and New Zealand next week. 1. Bumrah replacement

Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup with a back injury and the BCCI is yet to name a replacement. Among the available options, Mohammed Shami is yet to travel with a fitness test scheduled at the NCA, while Deepak Chahar has reported an injury. Mohammed Siraj, who was named as standby is currently on tour against SouthAfrica meaning India are yet to sort out a combination. Arshdeep Singh is India’s best bet at the moment with net bowlers Kuldeep Sen, Chetan Sakariya, and Mukesh Choudhary aiding the players in training.

2. Ashwin or Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal was dropped in favour of Ravichandran Ashwin in the series against South Africa. Since his return, the former has had an inconsistent run in the team, struggling to chip in with a series of good performances. On the other hand, Ashwin was effectively economical against South Africa but failed to pick up a wicket in any of his three games. With Axar Patel locked in, Rohit Sharma will hope that the warm-up games make the choice between the two RR spinners easier.

3. Rishabh Pant conundrum

Rishabh Pant returns to Australia for the first time since arrive his heroics at Sydney and Gabba in red ball cricket. A phenomenon with a massive following in Australia, Pant has since lost his place to Dinesh Karthik in the team. However, with conditions suiting Pant’s style of play and him being a left-hander, there is always a case to include him in the playing XI. The Delhi Capitals skipper will hope to thus impress and make life difficult for his captain and coach.

4. India’s fielding

Despite being considered among the better fielding side, India have been sloppy on the field, especially in the home games against Australia and South Africa. The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh have all been guilty of dropping sitters in clutch situations. The players have been subjected to special fielding drills in practice, and the matches are a good way to build confidence and show improvement.

5. Death bowling

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury and the lacklustre form of Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has India sweating over their final overs during bowling. In the home leg, the bowlers were smashed to all parts of the ground. With further doubts on their ability to execute their skills in Australian conditions, the bowlers could work on a few tricks and get ready before the World Cup.
