ICC T20 World CUP: Asian champions Sri Lanka have departed for Australia to play in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Asian lions took a flight to Down Under during the wee hours of Sunday. Australia are set to host the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will run from October 16 to November 13, 2022. This is the 8th edition of the showpiece tournament. The opening game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 between Sri Lanka and Namibia will begin at 3 PM (IST) on October 16 at Kardinia Park Stadium in Geelong.

Two weeks before their World Cup first-round match against Namibia on October 16, the Sri Lankan team has left for Australia. In the final week of September, they were in Kandy at a training camp with a focus on practical skills. If Sri Lanka have favorable results in round 1, then they will qualify for the Super 12 stage.
