India T20 WC Squad – Jasprit Bumrah Injury: What comes as a breath of fresh air for injury-plagued Team India, Jasprit Bumrah may just make it to the T20 World Cup. The medical team hasn’t ruled him out of the mega event yet. The back injury he has sustained won’t be needing any surgery. Hence, Bumrah is expected to travel with the team to Australia on October 6 and continue his recovery. However, his fate in the World Cup will be decided later by October 15. Bumrah was ruled out of India vs South Africa series after the reemergence of his back injury. He was immediately taken off practice and sent to Bengaluru to undergo scans. While initially, it was believed that he is 100% out of the T20 World Cup, the reports are positive. He does not have a stress fracture and could be available in 4-6 weeks’ time. But for certain, he is set to miss the first few games of T20 World Cup without any miracle.

“Bumrah needs rest as that is the best medicine for back injury. For now, he will be in touch with the NCA medical staff. Nitin is directly overseeing his recovery. We are not ruling him out of World Cup completely. He will travel with the team to Australia and continue his recovery there. We have time till October 15 to make changes,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
