Pakistan Playing XI vs ENG: Pakistan vs England 1st T20 LIVE: A 7-match T20 series between Pakistan and England will begin on Tuesday, September 20. After 17 years, England will play its first series on Pakistani soil. Jos Buttler will captain the visitors and have a chance to make history. But Babar Azam-led side will have a lot on their plate after their failure in asia Cup 2022. But it’s Shan Masood who is set for T20 debut. Follow PAK vs ENG LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Pakistan will be favourites in the home conditions. But this series will also give Pakistan the best chance to figure out their possible playing XI for the next month’s T20 World Cup in Australia. It is very likely that Babar Azam will give Shan Masood a chance to make his debut for Pakistan in T20 cricket. Pakistan team is currently suffering an injury crisis to their major players at a very unfortunate time.

Both Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi are out of this series, and it is uncertain whether they will play in the T20 World Cup or not. Although Shaheen is part of the squad that will fly to Australia, but Fakhar Zaman is just part of the travelling reserves for Men in Green.

Pakistan Playing XI vs ENG: Shan Masood – A debut in making

  • Fakhar Zaman is all set to be replaced at No. 3 by Shan Masood, who hasn’t yet participated in a T20 international.
  • Given that Haider Ali is a part of the initial squad rather than a call-up, it would be distressful for him to be supplanted.
  • Shan Masood is possibly in the form of his life.
  • The tall left-handed batter who has not received a T20Is cap, has accumulated 1257 runs in the format in 2022, hitting at 136.68.
  • His performance at the Vitality Blast, where he scored 547 runs for Derbyshire in 14 innings with a strike rate of 139.89, brought him to the headlines.
  • All these stats just prove that it will be hard for captain Babar Azam to look beyond this 32-year-old sensation for his team’s ailing middle-order.
  • Notably, Masood is also part of Pakistan’s squad for the ICC T20 WC.
  • But all eyes will be on Babar Azam as he has hit a slump in T20 format after lacklustre performance in Asia Cup.

Pakistan Playing XI vs ENG: Pace attack without Shaheen Shah Afridi

The pace attack will be led by Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf in the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi. Mohammad Nawaz’s deft spin and underappreciated hitting will help Pakistan to balance the XI.

Another puzzle for Babar Azam to solve will be the decision to either play Shahnawaz Dahani or Mohammad Hasnain. Both pacers provide quality on Pakistani pitches. But Hasnain could get a go-ahead from the captain given that he is part of the main squad for T20 WC while Dahani is a travelling reserve.

The usual suspects in the team will be Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, and Shadab Khan.
