With the captain set to take questions from the media, their performance in the Asia Cup will be one of the topics. The current Indian team does not have a good record when coming to multi nation tournaments. They have bundled under pressure. The same happened in Asia Cup too.
However, there were some positive from the continental competition. The return of Virat Kohli into form is a welcome boost to the national team. He finished as the highest run scorer for India. The former captain even scored his maiden ton.
The other topics of discussion in the conference will be on the fitness levels of Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah. Both the players are making a come back into the side after missing the Asia Cup. They were at the NCA in Bengaluru due to back and rib injuries. Questions around the T20 World Cup will also be thrown at the Indian captain.

Why is India T20 series of utmost importance?
The T20 World Cup is set to begin next month in Australia. Before the team leaves for Australia, they have six matches to prepare for the ICC events. They play three matches each against South Africa and Australia in the next 15 days.
It will allow the Indian team management to look at different options ahead of the World Cup. The team is still not undecided on the Playing XI – Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik, Ravindra Jadeja’s replacement and others.
With Bumrah and Patel making a comeback from injuries, their fitness standards will also be assessed. They are both central figures in the Indian bowling line-up. These matches will give the duo good time to prepare for the T20 World Cup in Australia.
