ENG vs SA LIVE: Ben Stokes & England players left FUMING as umpires ends play with just 33 required for victory: CHECK OUT
What exactly happend? Stokes and his fellow players were left shaking their heads as the play was called-off due to bad light. According to some of the England cricketers, as the Floodlights were on – there was no way umpires should have halted the play for BAD-LIGHT.
Openers Zak Crawley and Alex Lees were in full flow. Only 33 runs were required for England to win – but umpires decided to call of the play. Ben Stokes and team-mates couldn’t believe it as they along with various top cricket experts blasted the decision afterwards.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan tweeted: “Cricket is a stupid sport at times! Common sense always goes out of the window.”

Jimmy Anderson reckoned more “common sense” should have been used and fellow fast bowler Stuart Broad admitted the players were “frustrated”.
Anderson said: “It’s obviously frustrating. The rate we were scoring meant we might have needed only another five or six overs.
“But the point of view of the umpires is they have taken a reading on Saturday which sets the precedent for the whole game.
“If it rains all day tomorrow, it would be unfair on South Africa if we tried to get the game done tonight. But I would like to think common sense would prevail every now and then.”
Stuart Broad added: “We’re naturally disappointed and frustrated, particularly as the guys were going so well.
“Leesy hit the last ball of the day through the covers for four and was seeing it fine.
“We’re frustrated that we didn’t get to finish it in front of the crowd that have been with us all day.”
England will now have to score remaining 33 runs on DAY 5. By clinching the series 2-1, they will win six Test matches in a summer for the first time since 2005.
