Cincinnati Masters: Caroline Garcia stars to beat sixth seed Ayna Sabalenlka in semifinal and set up a date with Petra Kvitova for title-decider

Cincinnati Masters Semifinals LIVE: Unseeded Caroline Garcia came up with an impressive performance to defeat sixth seed Ayna Sabalenlka to reach the finals of the Cincinnati Masters on Saturday. The score in the semifinal read 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in favour of Garcia. She will now face Petra Kvitova  in the title-decider. Interestingly, one thought that her Cincinnati Masters was going to be over when she was lost the first set against Anya. She lost 2-6, and there was a serious need for her to up the game in the next set to take the game to the decider.

Garcia did exactly that. Though her skills was challenged by Anya a number of times during the second set, Garcia did not give up. She eventually won the second set with some courageous tennis. However, it was in the final set that Garcia showed her A level skills, which has helped her reach so deep in the competition.

In the final set, Garcia hardly gave Ayna, who looked helpless. The former did not take much time to brush off her opponent.

The match between Petra Kvitova and Madison Keys was no different. In the first semifinal, Madison looked in utter control of the match with her wide range of shots to take the first set, 6-7.

It is important to note that Petra was always in the game during the first set too. It was just about winning some important points. That happened in the second and third game for the Russian, who delivered a thumping game to win the last two sets and reach the final of yet another tournament.
