Kuldeep Yadav and KL Rahul, who missed practice on Sunday were in full flow on Day 2 on Monday. Both Kuldeep and Rahul have struggled with injury and rehabilitation in recent months, with the Zimbabwe series being the latter’s first game since May 24.
In a video by Vimal Kumar on YouTube, Rahul had an extended net session as he tries to return to match fitness ahead of the Asia Cup. The 30-year-old had a 30-minute net session and looked comfortable and in good touch. Rahul is expected to bat at the top of the order during the series and will essay the same role in the Asia Cup later this month albeit in T20Is.
Deepak Chahar was also seen bowling in full steam in the nets alongside the other pacers under the watchful eye of coach VVS Laxman. Chahar is also making a comeback to competitive cricket and looked in good touch, hitting the right areas. Laxman, standing in for Rahul Dravid, was seen in a long discussion with the bowlers during the practice.
Ishan Kishan was also seen practising some big shots in the nets, alongside Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson. Watch the entire video here:
