Rishabh Pant smashed his fourth-highest T20I score as he put the West Indian attack to the sword with a stunning display of batting. Walking into bat in the final over of the powerplay, Rishabh Pant ensured that the momentum did not shift after Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav got India off to a rollicking start.
While the others continued to fall after short cameos, the left-hander glued the innings together with some stroke-making. Often lambasted for his rash shot-making, Pant showcased calmness and authority with assured batting. Pant took India’s tally to 146 in 15 overs before being dismissed, setting up the match for India’s finishers.
He missed out on his fifty, departing for 44 off just 31 balls. Pant laced his innings with six fours. It is his fourth best score in T20Is, incidentally with all of his top scores coming against the West Indies.
