CSA T20 League: Why Graeme Smith is confident of the league to become the 2nd biggest league in the world?
- Six IPL teams, Mumbai Indians (MI), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are the teams to buy the CSA T20 league teams.
- All the six owners have swept the league and made good investments.
- Considering different teams play IPL, due to popularity and good income, Smith is confident a good number of foreign and Indian players will play CSA T20 League.
- IPL is the world’s best T20 league with over 15 years of experience. This is a huge advantage for the CSA T20 League.
- CSA also shares a good equation with BCCI and feels they will help in making this league bigger and better.
“There’s a lot to learn from the BCCI considering they’ve built something so successful and take a lot of guidance from them. From our perspective, we really want to set this up as something strong going forward – both, commercially and from a cricket POV. We’d love to attract global audiences, and particularly the Indian audience. Our partners and our relations with India is going to be the key to any kind of success we may want to achieve in this competition.”
“Yes, there needs to be financial sustainability, as I said. But investment in cricket has to be the key if we’re looking at this in the long term.”
