World Athletics U-20 Championships 2022: India at World Junior Championships: India will hope for a good show at the upcoming World Athletics U-20 Championships in Cali in Colombia. The competition is scheduled to start from August 1 and end on August 6 with Priya H Mohan being one of the big names for India. India have collected a total of seven medals, including Neeraj Chopra gold and Hima Das gold in 2016 and 2018  respectively in the U-20 athletics championship so far. In the last edition, India impressed with two silver and one bronze.

All eyes on Priya H Mohan: The focus is on Priya H Mohan, who finished fourth in the 400m last year and won a medal in the mixed team relay. The Indian will be eyeing for a big show as the Karnataka girl will feature in three events, including the 200m, 400m and the 4x400m relay.

The field in all the events are going to be tough with nations like USA, Great Britain, Australia among others featuring in this edition in Cali. These nations did not feature last year.

Problems before Championships: There were concerns if the Indian team would make it to Cali for the championships. Even after their Visa issues were sorted, they failed to get the tickets with flights being full. As a result, the athletes had to fly in batches with the first one departing on Sunday, which also included the relay team with their event scheduled on Monday night (Tuesday in India).

India squad: MEN: Suraj Alagar Raja (4 x 400m Relay), Graceson Amalda (110m Hurdles),  Babubhai Barjod (10 km Race walk), Lalu Bhoi and Chandrashekhar (long jump), Krishik Manjunatha (110m Hurdles), Sawan (Shot Put), Pradeep Senthilkumar (800m), Barath Sridhar (400m, 4 x 400m Relay), Hardeep Kumar (400m Hurdles, 4 x 400m Relay), Vivek Kumar (Javelin Throw),  Selva Thirumaran (Triple Jump), Rihan Choudhary (4 x 400m Relay), Kapil (4 x 400m Relay), Aryan Kashyapa (400m Hurdles), Aman Khokhar (100m), Deepak Rohilla (4 x 400m Relay), Sanyam Sanjay (Shot Put), Arjun Waskale (800m, 1500m) and Rohit Kumar Yadav (10 km Race walk)

WOMEN

It starts on August 1 and end on August 6

They will compete across 45 events

As of now, there is no official broadcast for the U2o championships in India

The official World Athletics website will have the live updates and the World Athletics YouTube Channel will also have live broadcast online.

Where will the entire edition take place?

The competition will take shape at Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Cali.
