As per official data, the title had more than 100 million users in India. This block arrives after another Krafton’s title, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, was permanently banned in 2020. BGMI was first taken down from the Google Play Store on Thursday evening. A few minutes later, the Apple App store did the same as the news created shockwaves among the gaming community.
The reason for blocking the game was not immediately clear to the audience. We are yet to receive any clarification from the publishers of the game, Krafton. A source close to the matter said Google had received the government take-down order in the last 24-48 hours. On the previous occasion, the Government of India cited security reasons for the ban on PUBG, but the main reason for its ban was the deteriorating relationship between India and China.

At that time, the Chinese entity, Tencent was the stakeholder and also had the publishing rights for PUBG in India. This time around, the reason is not exactly yet. Meanwhile, fans have been furious since its removal as they have already started demanding other BR titles also be banned.
Some creators, streamers, and players have also reacted to the current development. Currently, they have taken a wait-and-see approach before taking any stance.
