Martin Guptill continued his fine run of form on Wednesday, slamming a fine 40 in a stunning partnership with Finn Allen. The New Zealand veteran missed out on a certain half-century but managed to break a hug record at Edinburgh. Guptill now has 3399 runs T20Is, the most by a player going past Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
Rohit Sharma has 3379 runs to his name after the India vs England series, and Guptill’s tally took him 20 runs ahead of the Indian stalwart. Rohit however will have the chance to set the record straight in the T20I series against West Indies, with the Men in Blue playing five games.
