Glamorgan’s Sam Northeast reached 410 not out in his side’s mammoth score of 795-5 against Leicestershire in the English County Championship on Saturday. Northeast became just the 11th cricketer to score over 400 in a first-class game and the second in this century after the legendary Brian Lara.
Lara had smashed 400 against England back in 2004, and it was only after 18 years that 32-year-old Northeast was able to surpass the epic century. His 410* was reached with a maximum as the Glamorgan batter etched his name as the ninth highest scorer in the history of the game.
