IND vs WI LIVE Streaming: FanCode and DD Prasar Bharti starts selling SERIES SPONSORSHIP, spot pegged at 3 LAKH: Follow INDIA vs WestIndies 5th T20I LIVE

  • The 5th T20I game will begin at 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 07
  • The 5th T20I will be played at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, Lauderhill, Florida.

Insidesport

According to the information coming in from various agencies, the series is seeing lukewarm interest from the advertisers. Vin Global Media is the sales agent that is selling the series on DD Sports to advertisers. As the norm is Ad revenue will be shared 75:25 in favour of the rights holder FanCode.

“It’s first time that series will not be broadcasted on a SATELLITE CHANNEL. Rather it’s going on a FTA. How DD or FanCode communicates and market the same to consumers will be interesting to watch. Overall with so much cricket happening, I guess it will be a struggle for the right holders to rope advertisers for the series”, said one of the top agency expert.

India Tour of WestIndies – INDIA WI LIVE Streaming: In a first for Indian cricket, India tour of West Indies will not be broadcasted LIVE by any PRIVATE SATELLITE Channel. Rather, three ODIs and five match T20 series will just be LIVE Streamed by Dream11 parent entity owned OTT platform FanCode. The Sports OTT platform now has partnered with DD Prasar Bharti to broadcast the matches LIVE on DD Freedish:

The ODI series and three T20Is will be hosted across Trinidad and Tobago and St Kitts & Nevis, with the final two T20Is scheduled for Lauderhill, Florida in the USA.

It is worth noting that since the start of Cable & Satellite Television era, it will be the 1st time that series will not be available for broadcast on PRIVATE SPORTS NETWORKS.

FanCode being the CWI partner has decided to EXCLUSIVELY Stream the series on their platform.

Prasar Bharati CEO Mayank Kumar Agrawal said, “Cricket is the undisputed leader in sports & entertainment in India. Even in the fast-growing digital age, there continues to be a significant market and audience for sports consumption on television, and we are glad to bring the upcoming India tour of the West Indies to the masses through DD Sports. While FanCode is building a unique digital experience for sports fans, their extension of rights to DD Sports will mean wider access to all sports fans for the series.”

FanCode co-founder Prasana Krishnan said, “DD Sports’ reach in smaller cities and towns is unbeatable, making it the ideal platform to televise the India tour of West Indies, while we continue to build a superior digital experience for fans nationally.”

Normally DD only airs India cricket on Freedish for which content sharing by the rights holder is mandatory. In this case, the rights holder is a subscription-based digital platform that does not have a TV channel.

Last year, FanCode had inked a deal with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to air the series until 2024. During the rights period, India is also scheduled to make another visit to the West Indies besides the upcoming series.

Insidesport

Other teams who will visit the West Indies in the rights period for cricket series include England, Australia, South Africa and Pakistan. Earlier, WICB rights were with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI).

FanCode decided to go after consolidated rights (TV+Digital) as it wants to grow its subscriber base. It has been learnt that the rates on DD Sports are Rs 3 lakh for a spot on ODIs and Rs 5 lakh for the Twenty20 Internationals. Vin Global Media is the sales agent that is selling the series on DD Sports to advertisers. Ad revenue is the norm and will be shared 75:25 in favour of the rights holder who in this case is FanCode.
