Ajinkya Rahane Injury: India vs England LIVE: Former India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has finally recovered from the hamstring injury that he suffered during IPL 2022. He spent close to two months at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. However, he was dropped from the Test squad due to poor form and missed the 5th Tets against England. With no red-ball cricket around, he is likely to join a county side in the next few months. Follow Live Updates on Indian Cricket on InsideSport.IN.

With Cheteshwar Pujara and Umesh Yadav playing in County Cricket, Ajinkya Rahane may follow them in England to prepare for red-ball cricket. India’s next Test assignment will be against Australia at home in a four-match series. But Ranji Trophy will only begin in the December-January window.

Before that, India play plenty of T20 and ODI series to prepare for the T20 World Cup. Hence, there will be no Test matches until November after the World Cup.

However, with India touring Zimbabwe for a three-match ODI tour in August, he might be in the plans as most T20 players are expected to be rested.

Ajinkya Rahane’s last ODI match was back in 2018 against South Africa. Since then, he has only been considered in Test cricket.

India’s schedule 2022

  • India tour of England – July (3 ODIs)
  • India tour of West Indies – July/August (3 ODIs, 5 T20Is)
  • India tour of Zimbabwe – August (3 ODIs)
  • Asia Cup 2022 – August / September
  • India vs Australia – September ( 3 T20Is )
  • T20 World Cup 2022 – October /November

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav is also at the NCA and is recovering from his hand injury. He has started bowling at the nets and is close to recovering. However, his injury has created a problem. He was one of the hopefuls for T20 World Cup. But the wrist-spinner now only has Asia Cup to get back to top form.
