IND vs ENG LIVE: Team selection MADNESS continues, World Cup bound pace trio Jasprit Bumrah-Bhuvneshwar Kumar-Harshal Patel play just 3 matches together: Check OUT
India have found their pace attack for the T20 World Cup with Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel becoming an indispensable part of Rohit Sharma’s plans. However, given the workloads and squad rotation, the trio have hardly played together in a game.
In the 19 T20Is since the T20 World Cup last year, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have only featured in three games together. Two of those games came earlier this year at home to Sri Lanka, while they were once against in action at Edgbaston on Saturday.
While Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been staple in India’s T20I lineup since the World Cup, it is Jasprit Bumrah who has missed out on action due to commitment in other formats. Unlike Bumrah, Patel and Bhuvi do not feature in Tests or ODIs for the Men in Blue.

On Sunday, Rahul Dravid opted to change the entire bowling line-up with Umran Malik and Avesh Khan coming in for Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. While Bumrah was afforded rest in the first T20I, he still has to feature in the 3 ODIs over the course of next week. Bhuvi meanwhile has a fairly long break and will return for the T20Is against the West Indies in the Carribean. Harshal Patel meanwhile retained his place in the side as a “senior” alongside Avesh and Umran.
