Earlier, India set a 171-run target for England in the 2nd T20 at Edgbaston. It was Ravindra Jadeja whose 46 off 29 saved India the blushes after India were down to 89/5. India did go off to a good start with Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant firing but Richard Gleeson and Chris Jordan restricted India to 170/8
Rohit Sharma hammered 20-ball 31 before falling to Gleeson. His opening partner Rishabh Pant too started well but gave away his wicket. As for Virat Kohli, there is no end in sight for a nightmarish run s he departed for 1. But the trouble for India was not getting good partnerships in the middle. Had it not been for Jadeja’s knock, India would have fallen short of a competitive target.
