Centuries have evaded the former Australian skipper for around 18 months. However, following the likes of Marnus Labuschangne, Smith went on to score his 28th Test ton and take the top spot in most test hundreds among the fab 4. Earlier, Joe Root got passed India’s Virat Kohli after his century in the 2nd innings on Day 5 of the Edgbaston Test.

Most Test hundreds in Fab 4:

Smith – 28* (87 matches)
Root – 28 (121 matches)
Kohli – 27 (102 matches)
Williamson – 24 (88 matches)

Steve Smith now is the sixth-highest run-getter for Australia in TEST Cricket. Current teammate David Warner is behind him after scorinf 7793 runs.

Steven Smith has the least amount of matches to achieve this mega milestone. Smith has taken just 87 matches to reach 28 Test tons. This puts him way ahead in the list of the fav 4. Joe Root too has been in incredible form off late. The English batter tormented New Zealand and then India in the Test series.

Virat Kohli stands third on the list. The poor form of the former India skipper continues, as Kohli failed to score an international century since November of 2019. New Zealand batter Kane Williamson stands fourth in the list. He has managed to register 24 Test centuries in 88 games.

Steven Smith could very well go on and score a couple more hundred with the form he is currently in. Smith has now amassed 8125 runs in Test cricket from just 153 innings. Smith has a good average of 51.71 against Sri Lanka and will look to inflict more pain on the Sri Lankan bowlers.
