Charles Oliveira vs Conor McGregor: The apex of the lightweight division has his eyes on UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Fighting Conor has been a jackpot to any fighter in the organization in terms of money and win.
Charles Oliveira said,“If I must choose, it’d be Conor McGregor, as the guy who is putting the money in my bank account,” Oliveira said, at UFC X. “If I’m going to choose, I’m going to choose Conor McGregor.”
“The story with Conor has always been like that,” Oliveira said. “It was the same thing with Dustin Poirier. He always cuts the line and everyone knows that (happens) when Conor is on. He cuts the line. I think I deserve to choose and I’m choosing Conor because of everything I’ve done to make some money for my family and for everything. If I’m going to choose, I’m choosing Conor.”
“People are talking about it so much,” Oliveira said. “I think they might want it to happen. For me, it’s not specifically. The UFC hasn’t told me anything yet. I want to fight by the end of the year, but if it’s at the end of the year, really, I would prefer to fight in January in Brazil, if that event happens.”
Makhachev is 10-1 in the UFC’s lightweight division and has a 10-fight winning streak. In a catchweight bout this year, he TKO’d Bobby Green. He has wins over notable names of the divisions such as Dan Hooker, Thiago Moises, and Drew Dober last year.
‘The Notorious’ was the highest-paid UFC fighter and created history by becoming a double division champion. Unfortunately, he suffered a brutal leg injury in UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier in the first round, fracturing his left fibula and tibia.
McGregor had been out of the fight game for a long time, and he announced his return with a spectacular transformation and training videos.
The Irishman’s delayed return has devastated the hearts of his fans. In a recent interview, the Champ declared his intention to make history by becoming a three-division champion.
He eventually called out the welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman. “The Nigerian Nightmare” was the best pound-to-pound fighter and was open to the call out.
While McGregor’s comeback was anticipated as one of the historic comebacks in UFC history, his potential opponents were lined up as Nate Diaz, .
The expectations are getting wider as ‘Mystic Macs’ return in more ways, so the rival list might also get longer.
