PMWI 2022 Format Explained: The biggest mid-year esports tournament of PUBG Mobile, PMWI 2022 (PUBG Mobile World Invitational) is coming this summer. The tournament features a massive prize pool of $3 million which will be held from 11 August to 20 August in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

PMWI 2022 is set to become the first global LAN event to be held since December 2019. PUBG Mobile has partnered with ESL and Gamers8 to organize this global event while Sony XPERIA will be the official smartphone partner. Along with the PMWI, James Yang also revealed some information regarding PMGC 2022.

PMWI 2022 Format Explained

The competition is divided into two parts in different weeks – Main Event(Week 1) and Afterparty Showdown(Week 2).

Main Event (Week 1)

A total of 18 invited teams will compete during the first week from 11 August to 13 August. 18 teams will play across three maps (Classic game mode) for a whopping prize pool of USD 2 million.

Afterparty Showdown(Week 2)

The Afterparty Showdown will start in the second week from 18 August to 20 August. A new structure will be incorporated as 12 teams will take part. The top-5 teams from Week 1, six teams from the selected region, and one special invite will complete the 12 teams list. The prize money for this week will be USD 1 million.

All the matches will be live-streamed on the PUBG Mobile Esports YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch channels. The competition will kick off at 11 AM GMT on each match day.
