In a game which saw none of their middle order batters turn up, Pant’s half-century will certainly calm nerves of the team management. The left-hander had a difficult two months in the IPL and against South Africa, but marked his red ball return in style on Friday. Pant’s approach and skill set will be key against a rampaging England side, and coach Rahul Dravid will hope that the young wicketkeeper can carry the momentum into the IND vs ENG 5th Test.
