Khamzat Chimaev awaiting his prey: Khamzat Chimaev is waiting for his prey to show up so he could annihilate the champion and rise to be undisputed.

Khamzat Chimeav, being a newbie in UFC from his debut fight, has proven his dominance inside the octagon.

The Swedish fighter is a three-time national wrestling champion. Chimaev has only fought five times in the UFC, winning two by knockout, two by submission, and won by unanimous decision.

Khamzat Chimaev’s unanimous decision victory over number two ranked welterweight fighter, Gilbert Burns, in UFC 273 has created gigantic waves in the UFC. UFC 273 witnessed a three-round thrilling encounter between the ‘Borz’ and ‘ Durinho’.

Durinho ranked second in the welterweight division, posed as a potential opponent for ‘The Borz’, and has won seven of his last eight bouts. He lost to the division’s champion Kamaru Usman via TKO at 34 seconds in the third round.

Khamzat Chimaev said, “No, it’s never been close [to a done deal],” The skinny boy, when I said let’s fight, I was good weight, good shape, and now I’ve been lifting weights, I go up like three kilos. Now he says let’s fight.

“He was thinking, is August too early to cut weight? I don’t care, I’m going to cut my weight and fight with him if he’s ready. I’ll smash that boy. He won’t be the same Diaz anymore.”

“The Diaz fight is good for us, but skinny boy is scared, and he didn’t answer,” Chimaev said. “We will see. Belal [Muhammad] said yes. I don’t care. I’ll fight everyone. Let Leon [Edwards] fight with [Kamaru] Usman, who wins there, I’ll go for his head. I’ll take his head and take the money.

“I can take [Nate Diaz’s] brother as well, [Nick Diaz]. I’ll take his f****** brother and we can smash him, too.”

The UFC welterweight division champion, The Nigerian Nightmare, has an undefeated streak and is at the top of the Mixed martial arts spectrum.

The Number one pound-to-pound fighter, Kamaru Usman, was out of the octagon for a while and waiting for his return, but his injury has been blocking him for a long period.

Finally, The Nightmare is back on UFC 278 to fight his title against Leon Edwards.

Edwards, meanwhile, has also gone unbeaten since that first meeting in 2015 with a 9-0-1 mark. He returned from a lengthy layoff in March 2021 but delivered an accidental eye poke against Belal Muhammad that left his opponent unable to continue.

Notably, the welterweight division is one fire amidst Usman’s re-entry and facing his long-term rival Leon and it’s sure Khamzat Chimaev has his eyes on the winner of UFC 278.
