Firstly, It was Carlos Sainz who retired his car on lap 9 due to hydraulic issues. He went onto the escape road and wasn’t able to reverse his car as he was the first driver who saw a DNF against his name.

Then came the turn of the other Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc who on lap 20 retired his car as smoke started coming out from his vehicle. He was leading the race at that very moment but stopped on the track as Ferrari had a heartbreaking day. It is something unusual for such a big team to see both their drivers retire from one single race.

The problems didn’t finish for Ferrari then and there as two more drivers had to retire their cars from the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The rookie driver of the season Guanyu Zhou was having a good time out on the track as he was fourteenth but a technical issue saw him bow out of the race.

Last but not the least, Kevin Magnussen was the fourth driver who had to retire his car from the race. On lap 33, the Haas driver stopped on the track as he too faced an issue with his power unit.

Meanwhile, the last two races have seen the Dane driver retire and his best finish came at the season opener in Bahrain, where he claimed the fifth spot. Furthermore, Ferrari seriously needs to look into their power units as they themselves and the other teams had to go through heartbreaks in Baku.

The Italian team needs to find a quick fix to solve their issues if they have to fight against the likes of Red Bull.
