PAK vs WI LIVE: The sight of a batsman running in to bowl and finishing as the highest-wicket taker for his team in the match is a rarest event. On Sunday, the crowd at the Multan Stadium witnessed one such incident as West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran stunned Pakistan by taking four wickets in the third one-day international. Nicholas Pooran, who is the skipper of the West Indies lost the toss in the 3rd ODI and his team was asked to bowl. Coming into bat, Pakistan Openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq got off to a good start by scoring 56 runs in the first 10 overs.

Within the first 10 overs, Pooran had already given the ball to four bowlers and looking for wickets, the skipper threw himself into the ring by deciding to bowl, which was a surprising move as before this match, Pooran had just bowled nine balls in his entire career.

He introduced himself into the attack in the 13th over and bowled off-spin. Pakistan batsmen played him with caution as they scored 13 runs off his first two overs. The West Indies skipper however found success in his third over as he broke Pakistan’s 85-run opening stand by dismissing Fakhar Zaman.

Zaman looked good having scored 35 runs off 48 deliveries but Pooran bowled a yorker and trying to sweep him, Zaman lost the stumps as he became Pooran’s first-ever victim in international cricket.

Gaining confidence from it, Pooran continued to bowl and he found success in his sixth over, where he picked up not one but two wickets. Imam-ul-Haq, who was looking good became his second international scalp as he got out for 62 runs, by edging to the keeper. Within a span of two deliveries, Pooran dismissed Mohammad Harris, who gave a simple catch to the point fielder.

Pooran completed his four-wicket haul in his next over as he dismissed Mohammad Rizwan with keeper Shai Hope completing a stumping to give his skipper a maiden four-wicket haul in international cricket. Pooran then went on to complete his quota of 10 overs and conceded 48 runs.

However, even before Pakistan innings could end, the play was halted duye to bad weather with Pakistan having scored 155 for the loss of five wicketss after the completion of 33 overs.
