As per an ESPNCricinfo report, South African youngsters Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs have been added to The Hundred’s mini draft alongside New Zealand all rounder James Neesham. Brevis took the IPL by storm after impressing in the U19 World Cup, leading to him being nicknamed ‘Baby AB’.
Stubbs meanwhile scored a ton of runs in the South African domestic cricket circuit and earned a call up to Mumbai Indians mid season, which followed an international call up for the series against India.
Along with the Proteas stars, previously unpicked stars will also be up for grabs in the mini draft on Thursday. Australian stalwart David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Weat Indies duo Shimron Hetmyer and Evin Lewis are all amongst the players in the radar.
The ‘wildcard’ overseas players will each be paid £50,000. Each franchise will also add a domestic wildcard player to their squad for £30,000 in early July, after the group stages of the ongoing T20 Blast.
