England Tour of Netherlands: ENG vs NED Live: All-rounder Sam Curran has returned from injury for the three-match ODI series against the Netherlands. Furthermore, Luke Wood has been given a maiden call-up. IPL 2022 Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler has also been named in the squad but England Test captain has been rested for the series. This will be the first time that England will be travelling to Netherlands for a series. The three-match ODI series will begin on June 17 in Amstelveen just after the conclusion of England’s Test series against New Zealand.

Amongst other names, David Payne, Phil Salt and David Willey have also earned a place in the squad. As for Sam Curran, he was sidelined during the T20 World Cup with a stress fracture and missed the IPL 2022.

The tour will also be new white-ball coach Matthew Mott’s first assignment ahead of the India series at home.
“I’m very excited to be coaching a strong squad for my first series in charge. We have tremendous depth with a blend of youth and experience. We want to continue to play in an expressive style and let our players showcase their skills and firepower,” Matthew Mott, said.
“Luke Wood deserves his call-up. He has been consistent for Lancashire over the past 12 months and we have been monitoring his progression. If given a chance to play, I’m sure he will make most of his opportunity.

This will also be England’s first ODI assignment since the home series against Pakistan in July 2021. The team has not played any ODI game during this period.
“The ODI side has had limited opportunities and last played in July. However, with about 18 months to the next ICC 50 over World Cup in India, our preparation will start ramping up with nine matches over the summer and a busy winter ahead against strong opponents.”
The three-match ODI series, which are part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, starts a busy summer for England Men with Royal London Series against India and South Africa scheduled for later this summer.
