1. Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso could replace him at Aston Martin as he wishes to be at the pinnacle of motorsport for another 2-3 years. His contract with Alpine ends this season and he might take a chance of switching teams and making a move to Aston Martin.

Formula 1: Fernando Alonso who drives for Alpine can replace Vettel at Aston Martin.

Alonso has started the 2022 season on a low note after he sees himself down in the fifteenth position in the Drivers’ standings with just 4 points. Moreover, Alonso’s seat at Alpine is under threat due to the rise of Australian driver Oscar Piastri, who is currently the reserve driver of the team.

2. Mick Schumacher

Mick Schumacher could be the second name that could replace Vettel in Aston Martin. Mick is a close friend of Vettel and sees the German as a mentor. But his deal at Haas is somewhat more confounded than most agreements, as it is really a two-way one with him likewise filling in as an individual for the Ferrari Driver Academy.

Meanwhile, Haas is the main group that Ferrari can offer Schumacher a seat at in Formula 1. Mick has had a good start to the 2022 season but has zero points to show for it. He qualified for the Q3 session for the first time in his life and has two good races behind his back in the form of Miami and Spain.

3. Nico Hulkenberg

Last but not the least, Nico Hulkenberg the reserve driver for Aston Martin could also replace Vettel for a seat. Hulkenberg did drive in place of Vettel in the starting two rounds but failed to put up a fight in the less competitive AMR22.

Nico has experience driving in F1 which could be helpful for his cause. Meanwhile, he finds himself down in the twentieth place in the Drivers’ standings with zero points.
