According to Jonathan McEvoy of the Daily Mail, with who Ben Sulayem recently spoke to said, “There are fines that apply. t’s like if someone speeds on the roads you can’t stop them doing it, but they get fined, even if it was accidental.”

Meanwhile, the FIA is threatening race boycotts for the people who don’t follow the standard, apparently in some measure for the time being a fine is everything that will be dished out. Drivers can be fined £42,000 for wearing gems and repeat offences could see that number ascent to £215,000.

The British driver was given a two-race period to get all his gems eliminated, with a portion of his accessories requiring a medical procedure for removal. However, he has served his two race period time and still hasn’t removed his jewellery.

Hamilton is even in contact with the FIA president Mohammed bin Sulayem over the jewellery row. “I sent him a message, just reassuring him that I want to be an ally, I don’t want to fight with you guys over this. This is very silly,” Hamilton added.

Hamilton remained by these remarks at the end of the last week at the Spanish Grand Prix, where he let the media know that his disposition over the area hasn’t changed. Till now there hasn’t been any concrete info and looks like Hamilton will be let off with a fine only.

Meanwhile, Ahead of Monaco, the FIA need to decide how strict they’ll be over the matter, in order for the body’s integrity not to be tarnished.
