Formula 1: Kimi Raikkonen set to return to Monaco GP in a new avatar: Former F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen will be making his return to Formula 1 next week ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix but in a completely new avatar. Kimi retired last season from F1 and has no desire to make a comeback behind the wheel said, “I may never set foot in the paddock again. Formula 1 was never my life. There were always things that were more important to me. Nothing will change about that.”

“I didn’t stop because I didn’t have the strength but because I have better things to do than sit on planes and stay in hotels. I’m just glad it’s over. Even the fact I couldn’t finish the last race in Abu Dhabi doesn’t matter,” Raikkonen added.

The 2007 F1 champion will be playing for the team called ‘Pilotes de F1 Team’. Meanwhile, this team will feature 14 current drivers from the grid. However, this team includes the likes of reigning F1 champ Max Verstappen, two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso, and four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel.

The other drivers who are included in this team are Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Daniel Ricciardo, Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz, Valtteri Bottas, Lance Stroll, George Russell, Kevin Magnussen, and Mick Schumacher.

Meanwhile, a number of ex-drivers will also be seen playing in the charity match. These drivers include Nico Rosberg, Mika Hakkinen, Felipe Massa, Giancarlo Fisichella, Robert Kubica, Stoffel Vandoorne, Nico Hulkenberg, Daniil Kvyat and Jerome D’Ambrosio.

The Formula 1 team will be coached by ex Juventus midfielder Oscar Damiani and the opponent team will be coached by Claudio Ranieri, who won the Premier League title with Leicester City in the year 2016.

Team principals will be hoping that no drivers get injured during the charity match. Meanwhile, It will be the 29th edition of the charity match, while the Star Team for the Children affiliation celebrates its 30th commemoration.
