The strange incident took place in the last ball of the ninth over with Chahal eyeing to take the wicket of the deadly David Warner. Having hit for a huge six a couple of balls earlier, the clever Chahal chalked out a scheme to dismiss David Warner.
Chahal bowled a delightful leg-break on the off-stump to baffle Warner. Warner in a bid to push the ball to the covers mistimes his shot as the ball upon hitting his bat grazes past the stumps. The ball ultimately hit keeper Sanju Samson’s fingers before going to the short fine-leg.

In the meantime the lights on the wicket flicker up. The bails shine brightly but they are not dislodged. As per the rules of the game, the bails need to be dislodged completely for the batter to be given Out. Under these bizarre circumstances, a bewildered Chahal looks stunned as he cannot believe the happenings while David Warner survives a major scare.
These incidents however are quite rare in cricket. There have been quite a few occasions where the ball has hit the stumps, the bails have lit up but have stayed rooted to their spot and thereby gave the batter a fresh lifeline. Here in the case of David Warner, the same happens to be true!
