The Curse of UFC Lightweight Division: There is a latest addition in the hypothetical fan curses is the ‘UFC Lightweight Division Curse’.
The Curse is actually upon the UFC Lightweight Champion, who would be forced to vacant his title under some circumstances.
This started with Conor McGregor when he vacated the title because of the boxing match with Mayweather.
It continued with Khabib who vacated it when he got retired and the latest addition was Oliveira who vacated it at the weight scales right before UFC 274.
No one has defeated a UFC Lightweight Division in past 6 years, the last time a UFC Champion lost a fight was when Conor dethroned Eddie Alvarez.
There are now enough incident to solidify this so called Lightweight curse and it is not going off anytime soon.
