Jonny Bairstow returned to form when his team needed it the most as the Englishman scored a stunning 50 in Punjab Kings’ game against Rajasthan Royals. The Englishman had struggled for form throughout the season after arriving late following international commitments.

Bairstow slotted into the middle order and looked completely out of place, looking like a shell of his imperious. With Punjab Kings hitting a must-win stage, Agarwal took the bold call of promoting the English keeper to his preferred opening slot, dropping himself into the middle order.
While the move did not bring out results initially, Bairstow finally made the spot his own, crunching a fine half-century on Saturday. Playing against the Rajasthan Royals, Bairstow smashed the bowling attack to all parts of the ground with a quick-fire 50, to put the Punjab Kings on top.
Bairstow eventually fell soon after, with Yuzvendra Chahal striking to dismiss the PBKS opener. Due to his heroics, Punjab Kings put on a competitive 189 on the board batting first at the Wankhede. Mayank Agarwal and Co would hope that Bairstow can continue his top form in the games to come as Punjab aim to make the playoffs.
