IPL 2022: Injury blow for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Washington Sundar likely to miss match against Delhi Capitals after being HIT on INJURED hand
Washington Sundar was hit on the same injured hand while fielding during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s game against the Chennai super Kings. The Indian all rounder put in a dive on the boundary and hurt his right hand, which already had stitches due to a previous torn webbing.
Washington immediately consulted the physio and took no further part in the match, putting Kane Williamson in a spot of bother, with the SRH losing out on 4 overs of their sole spinner.
As for Washington Sundar, head coach Tom Moody confirmed the extent of his injury but refused to put a timeline to it. He said, “Unfortunately, Washington Sundar hurt his same hand which had stitches due to a torn webbing. While the stitches need not be redone, it meant that he couldn’t bowl further this match.”

Given Sundar’s importance to the team and his struggles with fitness, SRH are likely to give him an extended likely period with the ex RCB star all set to miss the clash vs Delhi Capitals.
During his absence earlier this season, Jagadeesha Suchith featured as the spin bowling all rounder. The left armer had also picked up two wickets vs RCB.
