Currently, the semi-finals of the Champions League are played over two legs in the home and away format, spread across different weeks. This system has been in place since 1955 but it could finally change now, as the UEFA are determined to make the competition more interesting and appealing.
Speaking to The Times, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin had previously said “It could be a fantastic event for broadcasters, for sponsors. In the same week you could have the final of the women’s Champions League or youth competitions, you could really have a fantastic week of football.
