Wriddhiman Saha got Gujarat Titans off to a perfect start in their run chase taking the attack to the opposition from the get-go in the power play. While Shubman Gill struggled to play himself in, Saha was the polar opposite as he slashed and pulled through and over the field to pick up some quick runs as GT plundered 59 runs in the first six overs, of which the veteran scored 39 off just 18 balls.
Saha slowed down a tad bit as wickets tumbled at the other end but kept going to reach his half-century, his first of IPL 2022. He eventually perished for a well compiled 68 setting up the platform for what was an intense chase. It was a great knock of validation for Saha and Gujarat Titans who have shown faith in the veteran, who was recently dropped from the Indian Test team.
