The incident happened during the eight over of the innings. Just the ball before that, Umran Malik took the wicket off Shubman Gill with a brilliant delivery that crashed the stumps.
Raged on by that wicket, Hardik Pandya was welcomed straightaway with a 145kph bouncer which took the Gujarat Titans skipper completely by surprise. He fends away ut was hit on the shoulder and winced in pain. It didn’t look good for a brief moment, especially with Pandya having a history of injuries.

However the skipper took some time and got ready to play the next ball and gave a fitting reply to the Jammu Kashmir pacer by hitting a boundary through mid-off. That delivery was bowled at 152 kph.
When Umran returned back to bowl the next over, Hardik once again was able to score a boundary off a misfield. However, the pacer had the last laugh as he dismissed Pandya in the very next delivery by bowling a bouncer which was hit straight into the hands of Marco Jansen at short third man.
