However, when revenue is considered, CSK becomes the most earning team thanks to their loyal fan base. CSK earned a whopping $41.2 million from sponsorships and merchandising in 2021 besides BCCI’s central pool money and winners’ cheque.
Kolkata Knight Riders also continued to attract great sponsorships thanks to its owner Shah Rukh Khan. In 2021, KKR also made $41.2 million as per Forbes. However, new team Lucknow Super Giants have jumped to 3rd spot in valuation. The reason being their Rs 7090 crore bid to secure the franchise and the prospect of BCCI earning around $7 billion from IPL Media rights in 2022.
