Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI: RCB’s loss to SRH seriously dented their NRR and despite having 10 points to their name, Faf du Plessis and Co. find themselves outside the top 4. The top-order batting has been a huge cause of concern for the three-time finalists, with both Anuj Rawat and Virat Kohli struggling to get bat to ball.

Kohli, RCB’s flag bearer and IPL’s leading run better, is enduring his worst season in almost a decade and will look to avoid a hat-trick of golden ducks when he walks out to bat. Given Rawat’s lack of success, RCB could be tempted to have Virat open the batting with Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik to shepherd the middle order.

Potential changes for RCB – Should Kohli open the batting, Rawat could be slotted into the middle order, a role he played with his previous franchise Rajasthan Royals. Shahbaz Ahmed would likely be promoted to No.3, similar to his role last season.
Should RCB look for more options, they could further bolster their batting by bringing Mahipal Lomror into the side. Another ex Royals recruit, Lomror can slot in anywhere in the middle order and can also provide some part-time left-arm spin.
