- Sachin Tendulkar’s father Ramesh Tendulkar was a fan of singer Sachin Dev Burman and decided to name his third son Sachin Tendulkar.
- Tendulkar was 10 years old when India won the 1983 World Cup. It was a moment that inspired him to take up cricket .

11. It was during an Under-15 camp that Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly first met each other. Ganguly revealed during a show that as a 14-year old, Tendulkar was too obsessed with batting in the nets that he had to be dragged out of the nets by the coach saying ‘camp is for others too.’
