Yadav, 55, has suffered two heart attacks in the past and has been on dialysis owing to kidney failure.
Yadav played one solitary Test match and 19 ODIs, the last against West Indies in 1994
The former India international was an important member of the Haryana team that won the Ranji Trophy in 1991.
A few years ago, Vijay Yadav also had a car accident, in which he had narrowly survived.
Since then he has struggled with various health issues.
Yadav has also had two heart attacks in the past.
