In a statement, the ICC said as of Tuesday local time, doctors made a successful move, with no evidence of brain damage, according to Campbell’s brother Mark who spoke on Perth Radio.
“they have take the heavy sedation off, so he’s actually woken up. Now, they are just trying to work out what’s wrong with his heart,” Mark Campbell said in the ICC statement.
Campbell visited Perth in the week before Easter before heading to the UK to see his wife Leontina’s family, and their Australian loved ones were notified of the situation on Sunday morning.

Campbell was with his kids at a playground when he suddenly had to lay down and had problems breathing; thankfully, a passerby who had recently completed a CPR course stayed with him and rendered treatment until an ambulance arrived, according to Parker.
“Ryan had a pulse when paramedics arrived about 15 minutes later, he has been in hospital since,” Parker said.
“He has begun partially breathing on his own, his blood pressure is good, so those are good signs – doctors don’t believe there’s damage to the heart but they haven’t been able to figure out exactly what’s going on just yet.”
Campbell will remain in an induced coma for another night before doctors attempt to wake him up on Wednesday (AEST).
