Chasing 218 runs against Rajasthan Royals, the Australian opener smashed a 25-ball half-century, to keep the scoreboard ticking. KKR’s innings got off to a disastrous start as opener Sunil Narine was run-out in the first-ball of the innings. Finch then joined hands with skipper Shreyas Iyer and built the run-chase.
Finch and Shreyas were aggressive as they soon reached 50 run partnership by the sixth over of the innings. Soon Finch shifted gears further as he took on the bowlers single-handedly and raced to his fifty with a pull shot off Prasidh Krishna that went for a four. His innings however came to an end in the very same over as he was dismissed for 58 runs off 28 balls.
Aaron Finch went unsold in the auction this year but he then made it to the KKR squad as a replacement player after Alex Hales decided to give the tournament a miss. He made his debut for KKR in just the team’s previous game.
