Reverter was the main man responsible for arranging and negotiating the €1.5 billion loan between the club and Goldman Sachs. It has been reported that the former CEO flew to the USA to conduct meetings between the investors to carry out the Espai Barça project.
But since stepping down from his post and not being associated with the Catalan club in no matter or aspect, Reverter has repeatedly warned the investment bankers that giving out such a gigantic loan might not be a bright idea to carry out.
Pointing out major risks that are currently at the table, Reverter has also revelated that Espai Barça project and the effective reconstruction of the club are not in the best of hands and thus ensuring such a big loan would be worthy of a major risk.
After departing as Barcelona’s CEO, Ferran Reverter warned Goldman Sachs not to invest in the Espai Barça project. Some board members are worried because the financing deal has not been closed yet.

Despite the backstabbing from Reverter, it has been reported that cordial terms are in accord between the investment bankers and Barcelona and thus there is no way that the loan won’t be funded. However, the loan could be delayed owing to a variety of reasons in the current political scenario of the world.
The loan is likely to be delayed due to the ongoing war due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
