Chahar was first diagnosed with a quadriceps tear during the white-ball series against West Indies. It was not known how long the pacer would take to recover. Scans later revealed it would take 4-6 weeks. Chahar though was quick with his recovery and returned to NCA earlier than expected.
He spent over one month in NCA with fitness experts. The right-arm pacer bolwed as well and clocked good speeds. However, during the final stages of rehabilitation, Chahar had his back issue resurface and was ultimately ruled out of the cricketing action for four months. With T20 World Cup starting in November, Chahar’s participation is in huge doubt.
