Dinesh Karthik came to bat when RCB were in dire crisis having lost five wickets for 88 runs. The first full over he faced was of Tamil Nadu teammate Ravichandran Ashwin and he took the ace Indian spinner to the cleaners, smashing him for 18 runs in the 14th over. That particular over turned the tide.
From 88/5, Dinesh Karthik partnered with Shahbaz Ahmed for a 67-run stand for the sixth wicket to take RCB home. He remained unbeaten on 44 laced with seven boundaries and a six to take RCB home.
Feels so good to see DK playing like this. Hope he makes a comeback to Indian crick team after IPL. #dineshkarthik #dk #IPL #RRvsRCB @DineshKarthik #RCB #RR @RCBTweets pic.twitter.com/eEzdnFz9c7

The Nidahas Trophy Connection: But it isn’t the first time for Dinesh Karthik. The hard-hitting batsman did it in the Nidahas Trophy 2018 Final against Bangladesh, hammering 29 off 8 balls to seal the victory for India when India were 133/5, chasing a target of 167.
In the process- makes the bat talk and his bat has soothing voice.

But Dinesh Karthik hasn’t had the smoothest rides. After being released from KKR, many wrote him saying, “He is full-time commentator and part-time cricketer” and with that knock, DK made a joke out of the so-called pundits.
After the match, Dinesh Karthik said, he is making a conscious effort to “tell myself that I am not done yet”. And, he did that. The 33-run knock wasn’t one-off. In the first match against Punjab Kings, Karthik smashed a 14-ball 32 to take RCB to 205-run total, albeit in a losing cause.

“I think I made a conscious effort this year to do justice to myself because the last year, I felt I could have done better. The way I trained was much better this time around. Credit to the person who trained with me. I’m making a conscious effort to tell myself that I’m not done yet,” Dinesh Karthik said at the post-match presentation.
“When I went in, we needed 12 run per over and had to keep going. I train for these situations. To stay calm and know whom you can take down. I’ve tried to play as much white-ball cricket as possible, and prepare as many scenarios as possible. I think T20 cricket, it’s mostly premeditating but you also need to be clear about where to target,” Karthik added, reminding fans that he has a few good years despite being 37-year-old.
