Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): Kane Williamson(c), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran(w), Aiden Markram, Abdul Samad, Romario Shepherd, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik

Although Marco Jansen remains available, he is unlikely to get a chance as Romario Shepherd is handy with the bat down the order. It’s SRH’s top-order that needs reinforcements with Ravikumar Samarth and Priyam Garg warming the bench. However, considering SRH’s affinity towards Abhishek Sharma, that is unlikely to happen.

Abhishek Sharma was the weakest link in SRH against RR. He made 2 off 19 balls and gave away 15 runs with the ball in his only over.

SRH Playing XI vs LSG: Who will Kane Williamson drop?

  • SRH do not have like to like replacement for foreign players on bench.
  • With Sean Abbott unavailable due to the Pakistan series and Glenn Phillips still in quarantine, Marco Jansen and Fazalhaq Farooqi are the only two foreign players available apart from the four in the playing XI.
  • But as Romario Shepherd is better batsman than Marco Jansen, it is unlikely that SRH will make any change.
  • Abhishek Sharma could still retain his place despite failure in the first game.

It was SRH’s middle-order that did reasonably well with Aiden Markram scoring a half-century while Washington Sundar scored a 14-ball 40. But Abdul Samad was again unimpressive, managing just 4 while dropping a catch. While Shashank Singh, J Suchith and Shreyas Gopal could be able replacements, it is unlikely that he will be dropped after first game.
